We examine a few of these key stories and how they are tied to the history and geography in the Bible. Paul exhorts Timothy to stir up his gift as well as to not neglect his gift. Defining what this looks like is difficult because it may be different for every person. We all have different experiences and the Spirit gives different gifts. Instead, we talk about what that has looked like in our own lives and the situations and people that have encouraged the stirring up of our gifts.

We need a broad view of the term "bible study." It could be you and another person opening the Word together over coffee or a monthly get-together with believers from around your city. It could be online or in-person. Opening up the Word with others is so enriching and helpful. We should all be doing it! This episode talks about the beginning stages, the challenges, and some tips and advice aimed at initiating your own Bible study.

The Sufficiency of God's Word

The Word of God is sufficient to meet the needs of the believer. Need direction in life? It is the lamp for our feet. Need a ready attack in spiritual warfare? It is the living sword of truth at our side. The Bible is a hammer, our food, water for cleansing, seed for sowing, and so much more! These pictures show us how much we need the scriptures in our lives. We examine attacks that call the sufficiency of God's word into question that follow the original assault by the devil, "Has God indeed said..." (Genesis 3:1).
